Bright summer day. Lying on the sofa feeling battered after physical exertion of going to church. Our first attempt ended when we drove past the church and found a crowd of people standing outside the church, apparently hearing mass. In my condition– with crutches and a leg that swells wildly– I couldn’t consider standing on steps for an hour. When we went back for a later mass we did get inside the church but there were no seats and we stood in the rear of the church. Real misery with my leg. Finally Lynn spotted a seat that was vacant and I hobbled into it, sweating as my cast felt like it would explode from the pressure of my swollen leg. Oh, I also stumbled and fell forward trying to go up the stairs outside Lynn’s apartment.
Then back home George had started making breakfast and Lynn finished. Cheese and eggs, toast, french fries. They both laugh and joke and tease each other. They put out such good energy for each other.
