If I look back right now I could see Peggy and Karen standing in the blazing sun on the sidewalk by the Washington Hilton– waving and yelling and waving to me with the sun making them glow.

That was this moment. 

Bright and clean, spring, Saturday, Washington D.C.– total, complete, my friends, my sad loving friend/city– I love you.

Home.

I am leaving you for awhile. Only a while.
