Friday night I had a date with Carlos, We had dinner at the Paramount Steak House in Georgetown. Then we saw “Outrageous” a new movie at the new West End Theater. Afterwards we spent the night at his apartment in Arlington. We enjoy each other. Thursday night I met Guy for drinks after work. Like a fifties movies we fall in love. We neck in the car outside my apartment– I can’t bring anyone into this pit of an apartment. Knowing that Lynn and George are going on vacation Saturday– I suggest to Guy that we may be able to rendezvous at Lynn’s apartment. I tell him to call me Saturday morning. Nothing materializes. Asking Lynn to use the apartment seems an outrageous proposition. Coming home late in the morning from Carlo’s I miss Guy’s phone call. A hell of a way for an affair to begin, I think. I walk up to Wisconsin Avenue to buy beer. May as well start drinking. I go to the pet store to buy flea shampoo for Sadie. I’m standing there when a man’s voice behind me says– “you forgot your cigarettes.” I turn around. It is Guy. He happened to be in the neighborhood and saw me walking down the street. I had left my cigarettes in his car the other night.
